Emotional register - How do you feel today?
Pick a card and discuss if a child has ever felt this emotion.
Pick a scenario and ask the child to find an emotion which would match the situation.
Use the words as part of a feelings journal.
Make a facial expression to match the feeling.
A set of coloring sheets which allow children to choose from a range of 5 emotions titled ‘It’s ok to feel…’ Each negative emotion is matched by a positive emotion titled ‘but I’m going to work hard to feel …’ .
To complete the set there are 2 pages showing activities of how children might achieve this. The posters are intended to open up a dialogue and provide a calming activity during the process.
